Why is my gif now showing up?  Yesterday's didn't either.

Could someone go to my site, copy one of the gif's/jpg's, click on one and "copy".  Then paste in your reply and save.  Does the pic stay or do you get just the link?

Can you give us a link to your site?  Clicked on your image url, and got the image.  Copied it and pasted the image.  Got this:

http://cableguymom.com/animated3/74-5 Friday/74-5FridayHorsesPeaceful.gif

I get the following message:

The link could not be embedded because only https URLs are allowed.

Interesting!  Because I've use this link, cableguymom.com for years.  Have not changed or upgraded this site.  I believe it is something in the Depot upgrade.  Stopped showing images and showing link only on  Monday, August 31.  I just checked my posts.

Another interesting thing.  The image in my signature is from the same site.  And it's still there.  I think I entered that signature a week or two ago.  Before this site upgrade.

Want me to start a new topic in Computer Help?

If you're still having trouble, yes, please start a topic.  I'm confused.

I will tomorrow.

Thank you, Sandy.  My problem is that the image I post will show only the link after I save my reply.  Going to start new topic tomorrow.

Normally I would wait for your new topic in support. But since I found the problem right away, I'll do it here. Apparently ther forum upgrade added  a security setting. Naturally they tick it "on" by default.

It won't allow what crome and all teh browsers will soon be treating as "untrusted" sources. aka Http instead of https.

We trust your site naturally, so I have turned it off. You might want to check with whomever you have your hosting with, and ask them if they are going to provide you with the https  you may have it on your host already, and it is just not turned on. So links from your site are just using http in the url.

In the future browsers will not give any of us the option, but will throw warnings or outright now display them. Aren't browser just so sweet!

WW, I was getting ready to post my problem as a new topic, when what do I see?  You've done all the hard work for me.  Thank  you so very much.

Thinking about this topic last evening, I knew that it had something to do with http and https.  Yes, I know my site is not secure.  I thank YOU so much for your trust in my site.  And I will contact my hosting site, Tiger Technologies, to see what I can do.

Whoops, looks like that didn't work.  I inserted the image via copy/paste and the image did not show.  Just the link.

I know the image works ok because I was able to use it on FB.   Jeanne

20 minutes later.

Tried inserting an image using "other media" in lower right hand corner.  Didn't take.  https is still on.

Now, if I were to use an app called "Fast Stone Editor" and do a copy/paste, the image will work.  So, for the time being until I can get in touch with Tiger Tech, I'll use this method to embed my images.  Is that ok, WW?

If not, let me know.  I don't want to mess anything up.
