Windwalker
Skype has for decades been the go-to calling app for many. Well, it’s time to move on, because Microsoft is shuttering the popular app in May and moving users to Microsoft Teams. If that sounds alarming, don’t worry. Here are the details on what you need to do. If you want to do this, you’ll be exporting your data to the free version of Microsoft Teams for consumers. Microsoft is “shuttering Skype to focus on developing new features for Teams, including artificial intelligence tools,” said Bloomberg’s Matt Day, citing Teper. "The company is working to infuse AI into its product suite, while keeping a lid on spending that isn’t part of that effort.” Microsoft, closing Skype (Forbes) Link to comment
Laidback
I tried Skype once about 15 years ago, and didn't like it, it seemed cumbersome and not worth my time to use. I haven't used it since, and haven't tried Teams or Google Meet. I have tried Zoom during the pandemic but it proved not worth the time especially with numerous people on the call. We do use Facetime to talk to our son and daughter, it's a free Apple offering using the internet (about the only Apple thing I like), it works great for one on one. Link to comment
