Cheyenne
Anyone use YahooMail - free one? I'm having an issue where my emails are coming into my Archive folder instead of the Inbox. Any thoughts? Link to comment
lightfootfan
I quit using yahoo mail years ago, but didn't it have an option where to direct your mail? Link to comment
Laidback
I still use it for misc registrations and throwaway email. I haven't had any activity lately but will keep watch. Link to comment
Cheyenne
I was getting my email (3 different addresses) thru Cox.com having it sent to Thunderbird (Firefox). They decided that side of the business was, I guess, no longer profitable to them; and, chose YahooMail to be their suggestion. It was easy for me to do YahooMail. I tried to get the information Cox gave us subscribers to register in Thunderbird. I couldn't seem to get it to work. I really don't like YahooMail, but I was stuck. And, this was before my puter crashed at the beginning of the month. So, that's my story. Link to comment
lightfootfan
Seems like thunderbird should be able to check yahoo. Link to comment
Laidback
IMO, Yahoo is a questionable site, I don't trust it and don't use it for anything important or sensitive. I have several Outlook email addresses and 3 Gmail addresses as well as one with my ISP. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Any email address can be compromised, and once published to a nefarious site, you'll have endless spam and notifications that you've inherited millions from some prince in Nigeria. Link to comment

Any email address can be compromised I wholeheartedly agree with this, Laidback. With Thunderbird, I had the cox.com backup. But with Cox "quitting" email program, I've been going on a wing and a prayer (actually lots of them). I've spent a lot of time on this mess. Soooooooo, thru TeamViewer or another similar program or here, can someone help me get back to Thunderbird with Yahoo as my backup? Link to comment
Angel
Just read all of the comments regarding Yahoo Mail. I have ATT.net Yahoo and have had absolutely no issues with it whatsoever. What I really love is that I can view a "raw message" without opening it if I do not recognize the sender. Forgot to mention that I also have a Gmail account as well which serves me well too. Cheyenne
Right now, I'm so discouraged with YahooMail and the way my computer has been acting since the crash at the beginning of this month. I'll get over it. Just gotta moan and groan for a few minutes! Link to comment
Laidback
Get yourself a Gmail address if you don't have one already. It's free and easy, IMO much more secure than Yahoo, and it's complete with 15 Gig of free storage. It works on your PC, tablets, and Iphone, and I've never had any issues. Link to comment
Cheyenne
I could, Laidback; but, I've had these addresses for decades. I'd like to try to keep them. Thanks. I guess I'll just keep on trying until the only thing to do will be to get new addresses. Link to comment
Laidback
You can have several email addresses with the same or other providers, I use different ones for different things. You can keep your old Yahoo addresses and move the important things to a new secure and easy email address at your leisure. As mentioned, I find Gmail and MS Outlook the easiest to use and access, you can use their apps, or access them online through your browsers. No sense beating yourself up, change things to make them work for you, but keep a record of what you change. Link to comment
