What the Word Hate Means

Seems to me there is way to much hate in this country especially during political elections.  Here is one web site's definition of hate:

"noun

the emotion of intense dislike; a feeling of dislike so strong that it demands action"

I guess it would depend on the action it is referring to but I cannot understand why others can be so cruel to another person just because they cannot agree with them.  For example: I dislike the transgender movement but I cannot hate the person.  To hate them would mean I would be going against God's principles there for I will not hate them but I am free to hate what is represented by them because that life style is not worthy of godly living.  MHO

There are those I believe hate President Trump.  He is not perfect that is for sure but who is?  Not me, and I will be the first to admit it.  One of the latest things he has done was to go to the Arlington Cemetary  to honor those 13 who died 3 years ago when the US pulled out of Afghanistan.  Where was the now president or vice president?

One news commentary through out a form of hate toward President Trump by saying he only went because he wanted the votes from those who serve or served in the military.  How do they know what was in Mr Trumps heart?  To me that network was expressing a form of hate.

Wow, Glad.  I agree with you on all 3 paragraphs!

I need to love the person; and, can absolutely dislike what he/she is doing with their life.

I'm certainly not perfect!

And, who knows what goes on in one's heart.  It's between him/her and God.

Thank you!

If you didn't have hate, would you still have love ?   There would be no point of having one without the other.

Yes hate is not a good thing. Believe it or not I do not hate Trump but I do strongly dislike the actions he takes. Believe it or not I feel sorry for him because I believe he has no ability to think of anyone but himself or those who can benefit him in some fashion. I will strongly speak out against him and that IMO is not hate.

Always,

Wildman

Good post Wildman!

I was mostly thinking of one political party to another (both are guilty) they seem to spew out hate toward one another and in my opinion that confuses me when voting.  For me I think I need to choose the ones that are the most abiding toward God and that is most difficult in this day and time.

Glad E Olah this is my prayer. God give us people who care more for their country than they do for themselves and let those type people come forth to be our leaders and elected as the president of the United States.

Always,

Wildman

I am reminded of this verse from the bible. It does not apply to most(ANY) politicians currently vying for your vote.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I agree, I've never seen so much hatred in all my years. We are being conditioned to hate others. It started with reality shows, was perfected by opinionated media, and perpetuated by unhappy people. I hope all this passes, before I do. I would love to see our country whole again.

1 Corinthians 13:7-10  J.B. Phillips New Testament 7-8a

Love knows no limit to its endurance,no end to its trust, no fading of its hope;

it can outlast anything.

It is, in fact, the one thing that still stands  when all else has fallen.

I would too Windwalker.  What a state this country is in for the future generations.  I believe God can restore the United States only if the people want it.......I assume a lot of people do not want this because of the way our country is right now.
