Now, I don't know about you, but images appearing in any of my browsers, have always been fine for me. This Edge thing, has been known for a little while.
Although they "say" the picture is encrypted end to end, and doesn't know anything about the person viewing the image, how then does it know where to return the image to? Sounds like it knows your IP whether it's encrypted or not.
Why not include such an enhancement feature "in" windows, and keep what you view, private. So far, Firefox seems to be the only browser not partaking in scraping information from people's computers via browser.

PS, they are also experimenting with uploading the URL's that you visit, you know, to enhance your experience.
